The thing I question here is why are we allowing the Supreme Court to tells us what we can and cannot allow for our children? Our entire system is in need of SERIOUS revision in my opinion, and it has nothing to do with religious exemption, it has to do with a parent's right to say what will and will not happen to their children. Personally I think they're approaching things from the wrong angle, this is about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and NO ONE should have a right to interfere with our God given rights.
I understand what you're saying, but this is the system we have. The Constitution is the Supreme Law of the Land, and it provides very strong protections for religious freedom. Parents who object "just because" will never win in court, but citing religious grounds provides a clear path to victory.
That's my whole point, the Constitution IS the Supreme Law, but should not parents have the right to determine what is morally and spiritually right for themselves and their children without the intervention of the courts, especially given the fact that these days the courts are neither reliable nor unbiased? The court was at one time dependable, but in this time of spiritual warfare it is no longer, instead we're dealing with a handful of people who can be bought off and/or threatened, and some of whom in my opinion have experienced either one or both. Otherwise the only conclusion I can draw from recent rulings is they are simply morally bankrupt or ideologically driven, and neither one is good and does not necessarily mean one has a clear path to victory.
